Charizard Picture

Charizard is the first generation boulder-crushing fire Pokemon from Game Freak's 1996 Game Boy titles "Pokemon Red" & "Pokemon Blue".  It is the evolved form of Charmeleon, which is the evolved form of Charmander.  In the anime, Charizard is originally a hilariously disobedient stick-in-the-mud for his trainer Ash Ketchum, but through time and trial they gradually earn a mutual respect.

Charizard first appeared as a fighter in the Smash franchise in "Super Smash Bros.: Brawl" as one of three Pokemon available to fight for the Pokemon Trainer.  It is voiced by Shinichiro Miki.  In Smash 4, Charizard is a super heavyweight with powerful KO options.  Despite having a large hitbox, lag and combo vulnerability, Charizard has incredible strength, deceptive speed and good mixup options.
