Shield Drop (Shield Platform Dropping)

Summary

When shielding on a platform it is possible to exit the shield instantly by pushing down slowly on the analog stick, causing your character to drop from the platform and giving immediate access to aerial offensive/defensive options.

This shield-initiated platform dropping method can alternatively be used to quickly drop down from a platform out of a dash, and also to platform drop when certain characters are charging their special attack.  The shield drop itself can also be cancelled into a down-smash attack as an out-of-shield offensive option on the platform.
